SPRINGTIME IN TUSCANY
with Gourmet Garden Tours
May 2008

Our Tuscany tour is a small escorted tour focusing on gardens, wine and gourmet food led by Gourmet Garden Tours experts Susannah and Annie, along with Italian speaking guide Barbara Mariotti.

The tour pace is relaxed: four nights in each carefully selected hotel or villa with genuine Tuscan character. Visit grand villas, a hunting lodge, medieval hilltop towns and an intimate 14th century Tuscan farm house.

Enjoy an invitation to one of the most important plant growing nurseries in Europe. Explore wonderful gardens from the simplest rural style to the most influential landscapes of the High Renaissance.

Gastronomic experiences include rustic village fare, regional game dishes and fine dining in world class restaurants. Enjoy a cooking class and a meal of your own making.

Sample many styles and varieties of wines. Wander through wildflower fields, olive groves and vineyards. Shop for clothes, linen, pottery artworks and antiques.

Be part of this deliciously enticing journey through an amazing country, steeped in history and renowned for its zest for life!

NEW ZEALAND NORTH ISLAND with Gourmet Garden Tours
October/November 2008

New Zealand's North Island with its spectacular scenery is home to an incredible array of plants and stunning gardens, at their magnificent best in Spring.

The Taranaki Rhododendron Festival at the foothills of snow-capped Mt Taranaki will be a tour highlight, as will be a delicious culinary demonstration and dinner at one of New Plymouth’s finest restaurants.

Food, wine and history will be the emphasis in the Art Deco town of Napier in the Hawkes Bay region. Here a real ‘foodie’ culture has developed – wonderful wines and imaginative, delicious food, all in Natures’ own beautiful garden!

The geothermal town of Rotorua will introduce you to the Maori history and culture. A visit to a traditional village, joyous Polynesian singing and dancing, plus the renowned ‘hangi’ or earth cooked feast, will be a cultural experience to remember.

Our final destination is NZ’s largest city, Auckland, the ‘City of Sails’. Here we will shop, sightsee and enjoy the ambience of this cosmopolitan town before cruising across to Waiheke Island for our final day. Waikeke Island is a microcosm of much of what is distinctly New Zealand – gorgeous scenery, delightful food and wine and beautiful gardens!
